Children tend to get on the computer or there mobile phone in order to have some enjoyment. Parents have a difficult time communicating with their children because of this reason. Parents need to get back into their children's lives, so that they can have a better relationship with them before they leave home for good.
An activity that parents can do with their children on the weekends, especially during the summer is planting. It may seem like work to your children, but it can be fun also. Take your children on a trip with you to the store to pick out some seeds. To make it more fun for your children, let them decide on what seeds to plant. If you have daughters, they will choose flowers with pretty colors. Your sons may just pick out any type of flower seeds.
The children may discover things that they have learned in class when they go to the store with you, such as using compost to make your flowers grow faster. Your children may want to make there own compost instead of buying potting soil or fertiliser. When you get home, you can make it a project to make your own compost. This will allow you all to get creative and have some fun.
When making the compost, the children may show you how to make it, if you do not already know how. When making compost, it is recommended that you wait a few weeks before placing it down, but you may be able to improvise. You may have an area in your yard that already has items mixed in it, such as grass, twigs, and dirt. Place some water on it to soften it up.
While your children are making the compost, you could dig up the space in the yard where you want to plant the seeds. You can place some of the compost down when it is ready and then plant your seeds. Have another child to do the watering of the seeds. Whoever has the water hose may make the activity even more fun by getting everyone wet.
